Recently I started building a brand new audience on linkedin.
Up until this point, I had built up an audience on facebook to the tune of about 3000 people.
The reason I started a brand new audience is because I wanted to serve a different market.
My audience on Facebook was full of network marketers and affiliate marketers who are just starting their businesses.
I wanted to serve a market of established business owners who already have an audience built up and use the skills that I learned from working with a social media influencer.
Skills that involved closing 6-figures in monthly sales from an established audience.
The basics of building an audience on linked in is going to be the same way I built up my initial audience on facebook.
And this week’s episode is going to focus on how to do it on LinkedIn and the concepts will be the same if you ever decide to start a brand new audience on any other platform.
Here we go:
- Decide which market you want to serve and get specific.
- Market
- Niche
- Sub-niche
- Optimize your profile
- Profile pic
- Statement of who you serve and what you do
- About me
- Lead magnet link
- Grow your audience manually
- Add and connect with people in your niche daily
- Send a connection request
- Engage pages where your audience is hanging out
- Find profiles that serve your audience
- Leave thoughtful comments rather than “Yes, absolutely agree!, or being a parrot and just repeating back what the post said.”
- Create a lead magnet that brings people to your email list
- Since social media is a borrowed platform and not an owned asset
- You want to start with social media to get people onto your list because that’s where people are hanging out
- But eventually get them onto your email list because that’s something that you own as a business owner
My wins for the week:
-Crossed the 200 connection mark on linkedin with a new audience
-Getting back to creating weekly content and consistent emails
-Created a lead magnet for business owners
-Started paid ads to grow a new email list with a market of established business owners
